Camera Body: Olympus EPM-1

£145

I've used this small compact system camera for over 5 years, and it has served me very well and is a sturdy companion for a clumsy traveller, having dropped it off several temples. It has all the manual functions and interchangeable lens functions of a DSLR, but a smaller sensor, hence the smaller size. The 12MP sensor still provides exhibition quality images up to A1 size prints at 4032 x 3024 pixels. You can use any Olympus or Panasonic micro four-thirds lenses, plus a whole host of other brands.

Prime Lens: Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7

£240

A brilliant prime lens with a very wide aperture, which is great for getting sharp images in low lights conditions, and it has a very narrow depth of field which creates the wonderful bokeh effect, particularly useful for sexy food photos.

Zoom Lens: M.ZUIKO Digital ED 40mm-150mm 1:4.0-5.6 R

£165

This zoom lens actually came with the camera body, and looks a bit extreme in comparison to the size of the camera body itself, however I've used it to get some brilliant portrait shots and abstract landscape views.

Tripod: Joby Gorilla Tripod 1K

£31

Essential for any night shots or long exposure shots to capture motion blur. It can act as a regular tripod or you can wrap it round railings or chairs to get some more obscure viewpoints.
