best of france Photo Essay

Bakeries are my favourite thing about France. It is a diverse country with a huge variety of places to visit, but some things are common throughout the country, and getting a freshly baked croissant that is crispy and flaky on the outside, yet warm fluffy on the inside, is a consistent treat.

Other joys include the colourful window shutters and glorious architecture everywhere from Paris’ main sights to the tiny Alpine church covered in fresh snow. Everywhere has charm and sophistication, not to mention glorious food and wine to boot, so you really don’t have to stick to the big names of French tourism to experience the country.

Pick a village, rent a bike, and go and explore. I guarantee you will find great bakeries and charming buildings in every nook and cranny of the country.
